Want to be Happy: Add these 15 ingredients into your life

Being happy or to be happy isn’t always easy. At times, it can feel like a full-time job. I wish I were here. In the new movie, Zach Braff plays a dad who can’t find the right balance between his family, work, and life. A few simple things can make a big difference between “okay” and “awesome.” We’re all on the same journey to find happiness.

1. A person can be okay with not being okay all the time. 

It’s not the people who always have a smile on their face who are happy. It’s the people who can handle their emotions and experiences gracefully and know they’re temporary and that everything will work out for them in the end(like introverts do: always).

2. It’s important to be able to admit when you’re wrong and get help, as well as to think about how your actions fit into an equation. 

When you can change yourself, this is the beginning. But unfortunately, it’s common for people to avoid humility because they’re afraid or ashamed of giving up the sense of control that comes with looking perfect. But this is a backward logic that causes many more problems in the long run.

3. A few close friends from different parts of your life can fill different parts of you. 

Because it’s not good to have too many friends, having a few close relationships with people with whom you can be completely unapologetically yourself is very important. It’s easy to be comfortable around these people and enjoy your life with them. They’ll tell you the truth and won’t try and make you stay in your old ways.

4. Enough money to pay the bills, save a little money, and be grateful for how much happiness money can buy.

 In the end, money can buy the books you want to read. Money can buy you yoga classes and food, too. It gives you a place to sleep and clothes to wear. It’s not a waste of time, but it’s not very important either. To be happy, you need to figure out what makes you happy (hint: it’s usually not $3,000 worth of clothes every month), cover your basic needs, and cultivate gratitude for being able to pay the bills. Your whole life will become richer, deeper, and better when you do this. If it isn’t enough right now, it won’t be enough at all.

5. The ability to see that everything you go through is a reflection of who you are. 

When you realize that everything you feel and think reflects who you are and what you are, you become your source of power. When you know that you can choose happiness as a matter of course, it makes you happy.

6. A routine for health, wellness, mind, body, and spirit. 

As long as you’re alive, you have to keep your body alive. This isn’t about giving up your whole life to unrealistic and unaffordable health plans. This is about how to drink water. Good for you foods that you like. A walk with someone you love. Meditation, reading, listening to your body, and keeping it healthy are all ways to be calm.

7. Having long-term projects going at all times gives life a sense of balance and forward progress. 

If you have something to work on and work toward, you are in tune with what you want, and you have enough going on for you that your eggs don’t fall through one basket. This isn’t to say you lose touch with the present moment.

8. The real ability to put your phone down, turn off your computer, stop working, and enjoy your life without having to think about it. 

Anxiety about work is normal and understandable, but figuring out how to balance your time at work with the rest of your life is the difference between being happy and not. It doesn’t matter how much you love your job; if you’re overworked and tired, you won’t be able to do your best work. Also, a major source of work-related anxiety is that you don’t have anything else to do.

9. Blow off your Steam.

There’s one thing you can do to let off Steam and get your mind back in the right place, whether it’s working out, meditation, or reading a book. But, first, you need to know what to do and where to go when your soul needs to be calmed down. Taking care of yourself is part of handling yourself when you’re not taking care of your mind or emotions.

10. I’ve had a few rough and tumble things happen to me already. 

But, it’s only people who have been through a lot that is the best. Happy people know pain better than anyone else. They see how beautiful their lives are that way.

11. The understanding that “good” and “bad” are different for each person.

 As soon as you can let go of your attachments to what’s “good” and what “should be” and start seeing everything as just a matter of experience, your life will be a million times easier. Lessons are more important than always being fine, and what is right for one person is wrong for another. But, again, this is a matter of how you’ve been raised and your perspective, both of which you can change once you know about them.

12. The ability to remember that “this too shall pass.”

Seven years ago, I started repeating it as my mantra, and it’s been the one thing that has always kept me grounded. It’s both comfort that even the worst things don’t last and a reminder that even the best things will be gone one day.

13. It’s not true that you can only be grateful for what you want.

You can be grateful for anything you want to. It realizes that every experience helps you in some way. For example, knowing where your next meal is coming from, having access to the Internet so you can read this, and being able to read are not things that everyone has in life.

14. The bigger picture means something different to each person. 

 A basic understanding of what that means to you. If you keep getting lost in the small things in your life, you’ll lose sight of what matters. “What matters,” on the other hand, is up to you. You can decide how you think about the end of your years and what they mean to you. You decide what’s important to you in the long run. Keeps you from getting lost in the silly things that don’t matter.

15. You should enjoy the small things in your life and your daily routine. 

Because they say so, it is true. You won’t remember how many years you’ve lived, but you’ll remember how many single moments you remember from them. Big things are made from a lot of small things put together.
